This was an issue under the old Spotizerr that was an issue posted there. I don't think it was ever resolved or addressed. With no apparent pattern or reason I can figure out, some tracks downloaded from Spotify (ogg 320) open in VLC with no 'duration' shown. The field is blank in playlists, and the 'time remaining' at the end of the progress bar is 0:00. The file seems complete, though.
Although I see no obvious pattern (some songs on an album will have the issue, others won't), it seems consistent that the same tracks will always have the issue (i.e. I can't re-download and solve the issue).
Here is a sample: https://open.spotify.com/track/2rK71uQZImhNiGbD4vw35y
I have tested ogg 160 of this track and it does NOT have this issue. But if I re-download in 320, it has the issue again.
I don't claim to know VLC code or ogg formatting well enough to have any clue what the lack of duration means (in terms of what's wrong with the file), but I can say that mp3tag does show a duration for these files. It's possible this is a VLC issue and not a true 'issue' with the ogg files. I don't usually use ogg format except for spotizerr, so maybe this is common in oggs? But it seems like a possible issue with the downloads to me. It could also be some issue at Spotify's end. I don't know.
I'm using the latest version (via docker), but as I said, this was an issue under the older Spotizerr versions as well. There is nothing in the logs that is unusual or different for the download of files with the issue vs. those without.
I can post my compose or settings if you feel it relevant, but other than my quality settings, nothing else seems likely to be relevant.
hey @xfactor35
thanks for the report and notes, no need to post logs / compose. I haven't encountered this primarily for the fact that I have not tried opening it in VLC but that's something we can look into 👍
